Chad Brown

Can someone tell me why the Browns didn't try and sign LB Chad Brown? He signed with the Patriots, 2 yrs/4mil. That is not that much bread for a guy who can still play and would have been a very good fit. Too bad.

    While I agree with the notion that Brown would have been a nice fit, and is familiar with Crennel obviously, perhaps he did what Bruschi did a year ago. Rather than go after "market value" on another team, he opted to play for less (still making more than the average working class guy) and keep the cohesiveness of a Super Bowl Champion together. When more players adopt this attititude, more teams (with decent players) will likely encounter success. Too much "me first" mentality still exists in the major leagues. Of course, parasites like the Postons drive such dealmaking.
