Tim Couch

Didn't think I'd ever hear it, but there are a lot of fans thinking that bringing back #2 would be worth a try. Kind of amazing considering the 5 years he had in Cleveland. But frankly... the Browns are going to need a QB, and there aren't going to be a lot of choices out there. We will either wind up with Holcomb, a downside-of-the-career veteran (my pick: Brad Johnson), somebody else's backup, an overpriced free agent (Matt Hassellbeck) or a rookie. Or Tim Couch. I'd probably take Couch on a one or two year deal and worry about developing the rest of the team that so sorely needs good football players.

Don't get me wrong, Couch is not and won't ever be a world-beater. But he would be competent, which is frankly all we need for now. And if 2004 proved anything, it was that the Browns biggest problems haven't been at the quarterback position.

2003
120/203, 1319 yds, 7 TD, 6 INT, 77.6 Rating - Tim Couch
193/302, 1797 yds, 10 TD, 12 INT, 74.6 Rating - Kelly Holcomb

2004
144/252, 1731 yds, 10 TD, 9 INT, 76.7 Rating - Jeff Garcia

But of course, all this speculation is far-fetched until it's proven that Couch is healthy (not a sure thing), we get a head coach, and we get an offensive coordinator who thinks Couch can play for him.

wow that makes no sense right there. This Franchise was so misshandled while he was here it was ridiculus. Did he ever have anything or anybody that he ever could truly depend on the field or as a coach??? The answer is no and it is there is no one to blame but the browns leadership and fans who expected him to make something out of nothing.... Tim Couch was no Ryan Leaf he honeslty worked hard and tryed to win with the little he had and I would love to have a player like that back.

Are you kidding me? Tim Couch is the biggest bust since Mike Phipps!! Bringing Couch back is like inviting carlos boozer to come on back because Bron-Bron needs him to build a winner. Let's get serious now. If we're talking about this "pulled rotator cup" excuse for a human being back, why don't we just go out and get Wayne Garland to replace C.C. Sabathia for the Tribe. Seriously leave Couch right where he belongs. His last name.

    Jack in Orlando(go Dawgs!)

Have to agree with him. But I will at least say he was a little bit better then Mike Phipps. I believe it would be a mistake to bring back Couch, but if he recovers from this injury,I personally belive if he gets into the right situation could be a winner and even maybe the Nfl's second Jim Plunkett. Ok maybe not but I belive he can still be a sucessful QB in this league. What do you Guys think?

i think couch was good, he never had a running back and his recivers were not any good. in green bay they wanted him to turn into a west coast player when in reality he is a shotgun thrower that is slow. give him a chance
